TGIF!!!!

Thank goodness it's the end of the week! Work has been totally crazy but on the plus side of things it's sure as hell made for a short week, it's totally flown by in a haze, and I can safely say I've slept like a log.

So we spent last night watching the cats go nuts over a paperbag. I cannot help but wonder at how easy it is to amuse them sometimes.

I'm also getting closer to the end of the Baddings podcast...Tee Morris I'm going to miss you when I'm done. Then again right about that time I'm going to be welcoming back JC Hutchins of the 7th Son podcast, I cannot wait, I'm totally hooked. I've got links at the bottom of this page for both of these guys. Check them out really no really do. I never liked audio books but having to drive for about 2 hours a day to commute from work it's amazing how these guys help to make time fly by, by serializing the stories it makes it easier for me to pick up day to day.

About the highlight of the day was the amusement at how badly the local bagel store treated my complaint today. If anyone is ever reading this and in Foster City, just don't go to Noah's for anything. Their service has just gone downhill the last few months. I mean we used to eat there most weeks and order for our company. Well I was getting more and more fed up with them and today was the icing on the cake. If someone from there ever happens across this post you stink! I asked for a toasted bagel, and when I returned it to complain about it being burnt, I mean this thing stank out my car, I was told it wasn't that bad. And that I was making a fuss almost about nothing....that damn thing was inedible you couldn't take a bite from it without tasting the burnt parts. Course I refused another I was totally put off by them and everything about them and by the guys attitude and the staff they have working there look unclean as well. I really don't recommend them at all. Good luck guys you just lost all our business. I even wrote a letter and email about them I was fuming, I've also been finding as many websites as well about them and been giving them as bad a review as I can possibly give. Yep I'm that bad reviewer! I almost hope they go out of business but they have a bit of a monopoly so I somewhat doubt it.

Anyway almost the weekend YAHOO! Not that I'm doing anything much, but at least I have a couple of days of not having to answer the telephone, yay. I'll try to drop something in while I'm not working.

How much I love my Job

Ok I admit it I think I have the greatest job in the world I really do. I actually don't mind dragging my butt out of bed 5:00 am no really I don't. I love the people I work with, both the customers and the staff. And my job is actually interesting.

I like to think of myself as glue and a traffic coordinator. Ok so when I started I was hired as a receptionist, I think my job now encapsulates a lot more than that....so I still answer the phones, but that's such a minor part of what I do. There is the accounts receivables, SUA/registration information which I try to keep straight (it's not easy), then there is the licensing as well that I help to handle. Given my education and work history it's been the first job I've felt truly comfortable in for years. Plus I've been able to get some respect from the tech guys who let me help out with some of the office equipment as well. I'm like back up to a lot of things, and with half our staff off this week I've felt like I've been doing three jobs at once. All in all that means the days just fly by! It also means I hate taking time off and coming back to catch up....

Stress, Dreams and Fun

Why is it this year has just been one thing after another? After getting married last year I was looking forward to having time where we could enjoy life a little bit and actually do some things rather than just trying to save.

But no..first there was the disaster of the used lemon car we purchased at the beginning of the year. Then there was the taxes. Then we get a new neighbour who we cannot stand, and I swear her kid has put a lovely scratch in my new car (that woman seriously needs to get a handle on her kid) I've heard her child outside screaming and crying that he's run into a car on his bike or rollerblades and she is like oh never mind dear.....NEVER MIND what kind of lesson is that to teach your son?!

Then there is the yelling and screaming matches we have to listen too and trust me we hear every word, every slammed door. It doesn't help that my poor husband has to try to sleep during the day and the noise they make.

So what is the point? The point is we want to move desperately away from her this apartment complex, the trash compactor right outside our bedroom....to somewhere a little quieter. So we start to save for that and oh some car repairs as well to boot. Well this plan was looking good until Monday.

I'm supposed to provide dips and sides for dinner with my Girlfriend and her Family. All well and good but I forgot the dip. So I jumped in my husband's car drove 5 minutes around the corner....ran into the store, got the chips and dips then went back to the car only to find it won't start....

Trying to make sure I'm not having a blonde moment I call the husband. He comes over to the parking lot with said Girlfriend and he cannot start the car either....so we call AAA they then go and get my car while I wait, and wait...they come back drop of my car and leave again leaving me to wait...AAA guy shows up about 50 minutes later tows the car to our mechanic.

So!!! The story continues here, the next day Jagr has to cycle into town to the mechanic and drop off the car keys. Few hours later they cannot figure out what the issue is and suggest a chevy dealer...so Jagr then has to call AAA again to get the car towed from the mechanic to the car dealer...but! in order to be able to do that he has to cycle all the way down to the mechanic then from there to the car dealer. He told me later he cycled 25 miles that day.

The dealer couldn't get to the car till the next day, and here we are having nightmares about how much this is all going to cost and how much the repairs are going to be and trying to come up with some way to see if we can get another loan for another car....fortunately they were able to fix the problem for a mere $500.00 cheaper than a new car at least. Unfortunately that means poor Jagr has to cycle back into Livermore downtown yet again! to go and pick the car up after it's been repaired.

Oh on top of that the laundry still had to be done along with a bunch of other chores that went on hold while all of this drama was being dealt with.

I'm just glad he didn't have to work the last 2 nights! Add to all of that work for me has been very busy with half our staff away on vacation etc. and trying to cover 2 jobs yesterday I'm going loopy I think. I cannot wait for the weekend and some R&R!

On the bright side it seems our dream of moving away from the nightmare below us is still looking possible! Thank goodness because I swear that kid of hers if not her has put a lovely deliberate scratch on the hood of my new car! If I had any evidence it was them I would pursue it further, all I can say is get us out of this apartment!
