Weekend Fun

This weekend was all about the Livermore Wine Festival and me doing a lot of walking :)  I had the pleasure to meet my bff's mother-in-law and we shared ribs on Sunday night.  I was a little disappointed with the ribs (truth be told) and my fault for totally putting them in too hot an oven to start with, however they were drop off the bone tender so that as some consolation.  Next time lower heat!

Otherwise picked up an interesting gourmet sauce for which I have plans!  I've also spent the morning trimming back the roses in the backyard and trying to cut off the worst of the black spot on the leaves.   I am also thinking I need sandals for the girls for summer, their fully enclosed shoes are just simply looking too warm for them now.

I actually don't have to do much for dinner tonight which is nice.

The meat just dropped off the bones! It was all yummy.
So glad to have been able to spend time with you, your dear husband, and your MOST adorable girls. It was grand!
Tell me, did you do anything special to loose weight? It's our goal, to drop some pounds this summer when all the local produce is available. Of course, we're about 3 or so weeks behind y'all!

Nope not really, cut out soda, reduced alcohol consumption, reduced fat and I try to plan to have one vegetarian meal and one fish meal a week. I also don't eat really between meals which has also helped a ton. Funnily enough we also tend to eat seasonally. So right now asparagus is a great buy.

So, you do eat fish. Debbie kinda thought James wasn't a great fan. I have a terrific tuna/white bean salad that I'd share, if you like a really lemony flavor.
Not a soda drinker, so that's no problem for either Ron or I. But, we do enjoy our wine, a glass or two with each meal. That I may have to work on!
Love asparagus. When I was young, my dad grew it, so it was my job to cut it fresh for meals. OMG.

Actually Debbie is correct James really doesn't care for seafood, however, he will eat some dishes and he has no problem with shrimp. So if it's something he's not going to like or not tried before I give him chicken instead. I look for recipes that I can easily substitute chicken in lot of breaded ideas and different sauce that work with either fish or chicken. The girls will eat fish so I share my dinner often with them.

Send me that recipe I'd gladly use it for a lunch meal, as it contains both tuna and beans I know it's not something I can use for a main dinner :)
